Hotel Don Michele Boca Chica ★★★★

Location and easy way to get in and out. Great value and we had no issues at all.

Lots of construction going on at the property as i believe they were either adding new room or renovating. Hot water takes 10 mins to start running but that’s normal for Dominican Republic in a lot of hotels of this level.

I stayed down the road in may and must say when you can walk out to the beach from hotel its nice....the room AC was excellent....Beach water clear clean...parking was the best is in its own compound .....on main Road for restaurants and bars...only negative really no elevator i was on 2nd floor...and a bit noisy late night but was muffled ok ...TV good cable...for the price i liked

My money being stolen out of the keyed safe! My meds being lifted out of my backpack. My stufff being gone through while away and the door was locked! I asked about the breakfast, and told $6 US,NOT FREE. I felt blessed to leave still having my passport.

The wifi and the kind female staff are the only positives.

Booked eights nights and ended up staying two before I left the hotel and town. Contrary to what it says on booking.com, the staff doesn't speak English and there's no airport shuttle. The owner is an Italian man named Mario and his staff are Dominican ladies. I had to use a combo of my conversational Spanish, Google Translate, his cook Marco and a German guest who spoke English to communicate. The check-in and out process was disorganized. The hotel is situated next to a nightclub which plays music all night. When the nightclub isn't playing music, everyone else is. I didn't sleep the first night and got a few hours thanks to earplugs the second night. The air conditioning and TV didn't work the first night and they fixed both by the next day. There's no proper menu. One night there was a dinner I paid $20 US for, which was comprised of Italian food and seafood. I couldn't request what I wanted. The next night there was no dinner served that I knew of. Breakfast was included in my rate but it was American and I chose to eat breakfast and dinner the second day at other restaurants. My room was old and run down. I wasn't expecting 5 star accommodations but this was ridiculous. I realized this wasn't the place for me and booked a resort in Juan Dolio which ended up being a great experience. The town is full of prostitution, thieves and vendors who harass you all day on the tiny beach area and I didn't feel safe. The beach is dirty and the water looks polluted. On top of that, the food everywhere is expensive. Do your research before booking a hotel in this area - especially solo female travelers!

My room had the most incredible view of the ocean. The staff only wanted to do whatever they could to make their guests comfortable and happy. Marco was extremely helpful and friendly and a pleasure to speak with. The price was extremely reasonable and the location was outstanding. Marco made us a breakfast that was truly our best meal the entire time I was in the dominican Republic.

Nothing. I was pleasantly surprised at how well pleased I was with everything.

Property is difficult to find rather hidden

If you consider yourself bohemian, this is nirvana. The owner is from Italy and an artist. He paints in the courtyard and friends are usually visiting with him to pass the time. The guy that made me a cup of cappuccino was a friend of the owner who just happens to make cappuccino for others. Breakfast was great every morning. The beach is just a few feet out the back gate. At night, the front street is closed off and all the little eateries place their tables outside. It was quiet for the Dominican Republic. If you want to do nothing and meet people from Europe and former USSR nations, this is the place to do so.

If this would have been August, I would have needed a better air conditioner. Otherwise, the breeze was great. Don't expect this to be a standardized Holiday Inn.

I liked the closeness to the beach and the staff. Very kind people. Also I liked the continental breakfast too.

The room smelled like mold and was pretty basic. Also the air conditioning didn't stay cold through the night.

Out the back entrance this property is right on the beach, out the front entrance after the parking spaces is the main street of Boca Chica. Very clean and helpfull staff. Mixed guests straight and gay everyone having a good time.

Instalaciones que parecían en derribo. Ruidos a todas horas, tanto de la calle como de un generador en el mismo patio. Equipamiento inexistente. Sin ninguna seguridad. Puedes entrar desde la calle a las habitaciones sin que nadie se de cuenta.

Hotel inseguro y ubicado al frente de un cabaret, nos entraron a robar a mitad de la noche y nos Amenazaron de muerte, el dueño no se responsabilizo, pero si nos cambio de habitación.

El personal del hotel muy amable y servicial. Nos sentimos como en casa. Volveremos pronto.

Esperienza da dimenticare siamo rimasti in attesa all aereopo in attesa di una navetta mai arrivata abbiamo dovuto prendere un taxy alle 3 di mattina per arrivare nella struttura e non trovare nessuno alla reception solo dopo qualche ricerca ci siamo accorti che cera qualcuno che dormiva in una piccola stanza al lato del bar .Per concludere meglio dimenticare dopo un volo di 15 ore lascio immaginare

Direttamente sulla spiaggia. Cucina buonissima! Camere spartane ma vanno benissimo.
